Sun Drawings Without Sun

Photosensitive paper prints, light, objects, 2019 - 2020

During the second winter of my life ever, the lack of natural sunlight and acute social introvertedness (integrating with the weather) invited me to create this project. Using heliography technique (UV exposure on photosensitive paper), I layered multiple exposures of everyday objects and sometimes living things such as crickets, and then developed them using chemicals, creating in the darkness hundreds of images that dream of sun.

Nothing is repeated other than the actions of composing, exposing and developing. All decisions made cannot be undone and have led us to this position. There is nowhere to hide and we must go on.

Depicting, among others: Plants, glasses and other reflective & refractive surfaces, negative and positive prints, living crickets.
